This will always be one of my very favorite moments from stage and I wasn’t even playing. I was just up there setting up my gear while the ENTIRE CROWD kept singing the Whomping Willow’s “When the Lights Go Out” after their set ended. It was just unreal.

Matt has dedicated so much time and energy making wizard rock into the positive and supportive community that we recognize today. Not only that, but he writes amazing and thoughtful songs about these books and how they’ve effected out lives. The Whomping Willows set was amazing, but it all built towards this moment where Matt got to step aside and let the audience steal the show.

And then to top it off, there was a reprise of this at the end of the Esther Earl Charity Ball. Incredible!
